Sometimes in Neverwinter you just can’t help yourself and shake your head in disbelief. We already reported in yesterday’s Community Watch that the voucher drops from the current Siege event are too good to be true and the new Quartermaster’s Enchantment certainly fits the same category. More than that, it’s amazing how the devs couldn’t foresee the impact the Enchantment would have.
What happened? Well, with the current installment of the Siege event the former Salvager Enchantment was reworked to feature better loot. Refining Stones have been added to the loot table and the Quartermaster’s can drop Enchantments as high as Rank 7. And all of that comes unbound!

Let’s recap: Only a few weeks ago, the devs made a major change to profession nodes in scratching all RPs from them, because it was the main source for bots. In which world does it make sense to introduce an Enchantment now that provides an even better source of RPs? Add that the Quartermaster’s can also drop a substantial amount of profession resources, Insignias and even campaign currency and you have just added a portable skill node in any Utility Slot. The Enchantment seems to be uncapped and without an ICD.
It renders the Fey Blessing useless as it is at least on par in terms of RP and adds more goodies on top of it. It can additionally be fed to the Surplus Coffer, which is a much better fit for the Tymora Enchant, which is actually dropping gear. In my eyes the Quartermaster’s is bound to get nerfed at some point, but the question is when. Otherwise Rank 5s will be back at 5,000 AD a stack in no time as bots and players will just farm Strongholds or other open world areas and instances and collect those drops.
I would advise the devs to adjust Utility Enchantments as a whole if you’re already at it to make all of them equally useful. It makes sense that Tymora drops contribute to the Surplus Coffer and I’d hand over Quartermaster’s RP loot to Fey Blessings, so that they are able to provide up to Rank 7s. Quartermaster’s would then drop profession resources, Insignias and as compensation for the lost RP I’d add Stronghold Vouchers. Also strip all Refining Stones, but double the daily caps on both the Wanderer’s Fortune Insignia bonus and the Dragon’s Hoard Enchantments. This way Utility Enchantment do not overlap and are viable in any combination depending on your needs.

Overall it’s hard to hand out a clear advise how to handle the situation. On the one hand it’s probably best to farm as long as you can, but the Enchantments have a sizable initial investment and in case it’s getting nerfed soon, you might not have enough time to get all of it back. The quality of the drops by the way is affected by both mob level and the Enchantment Ranks. It seems you need at least one Rank 9 and level 68 mobs to get mostly Spoils of War.
