7/30/2019 How To Find Kace Agent Version Cmd
We're in dire need of a solution to address a number of management shortfalls that are currently being done either by best estimate (licensing for client software) or just plain not at all (patching, Windows and third-party products both). To that end, there seem to be exactly two 'do it all' solutions available: Dell's KACE and Microsoft's SCCM.
I've had a couple of live demos of KACE and an initial quote for both (virtual) appliances; the former was quite impressive, the latter less so, but workable for initial numbers. I thought I'd reach out to the Ars collective and see who is using (or has used) KACE and their experiences, both positive and negative. I'd be looking to leverage (and hear feedback about) pretty much all of the major features:
I'd be especially interested in ease of configuration and daily use. Although we're also considering SCCM, that option would come with a bag of money for the vendor to do the actual install and configuration, as I haven't got the time for that.

I am very new to using KACE as anything other than viewing inventory. I am trying to push out a .bat file to copy a file from our network to a specific location. The batch file works when manually run on a system. I am trying to configure a script but it does not seem to run my bat file, instead it creates another bat file and nothing happens.
I have uploaded my bat file and set the On Success task. When I ran it, it created the kace7740.bat and I see a command prompt open and close quickly. The services file does not get updated. Any advice? Zoo animal crackers nutrition.

I'm running a K1000 on 8.1.108 with 8.1.52 agents. The agent updates went mostly well but I had two machines that stopped checking in once the 8.1.52 agent was installed. One is a server, and one a workstation, so I've been troubleshooting the workstation as I can't just reboot the server at any time.
So, the agents would show as connected in the Status column of the inventory, but would not check in, even if I clicked 'force inventory' from the device detail. I could manually do a 'runkbot 4 0' and they would inventory tho.
How To Find Kace Agent Version Cmd In Windows 10
So I tried uninstalling, reinstalling the workstation. No change. I tried uninstalling with 'amptools.exe uninstall' - then reboot, reinstall. Nothing. So I tried 'amptools.exe uninstall all-kuid', reboot, reinstall. Nothing.
When dealing with online banking and payment systems, such as PayPal, you need extra protection because data leakage may result in a serious financial loss. Watch and read how to use Safe Money, a component of Kaspersky Internet Security 2015, to ensure better security when making online transfers and payments. What is safe money.
So I tried deleting the computer record from the kace. Did another amptools.exe uninstall all-kuid, then deleted the program files (x86)quest directory, and the ProgramDataQuest directory. Then did a search in the registry and deleted all the Kace entries there. Then rebooted. Then tried to reinstall first using the agent_msi_provision.bat, and interestingly this failed because it said the unit already had a KUID assigned. So I did a straight install from the file, nothing. No check in, no record of it on the server.
Does anyone have a full uninstall script or a list of registry entries or any ideas on what to try next? Is there a list of changes made between the v7 agent and the v8 agent? When I search online, even at Quest or ITNinja, seems all the documentation is for v7.
